Korea Money Brokerage (KMB), led by CEO Woo Hae-young, announces on July 6 that it has partnered with Woori Cultural Breath―a non-profit organization that carries out National Heritage Guardian activities under the National Heritage Administration―to support the 'School Bus to Palaces' project for socially vulnerable groups. As part of this initiative, KMB presents a donation of KRW 1 million and holds a 'Gyeonghuigung Plogging' volunteer activity with its executives, employees, and Woori Cultural Breath around Gyeonghuigung Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The donated funds will be used for the 'School Bus to Palaces' project, which provides cultural heritage experiences for socially vulnerable groups who face difficulties visiting Korea's royal palaces due to mobility or information barriers. Participants explore the palaces dressed in traditional Hanbok while taking part in guided historical tours. To improve accessibility to cultural heritage, the program also offers guided tours in foreign languages for multicultural families.
Following the donation ceremony, Korea Money Brokerage holds the 'Gyeonghuigung Plogging' volunteer activity as a CSR activity reflecting the historical and cultural identity of Jongno-gu. Employees who voluntarily participate walk through the historic grounds of Gyeonghuigung Palace while listening to guided historical commentary about the site's history and cultural heritage. At the same time, they collect litter and inspect the condition of informational signboards, providing participants with a meaningful opportunity to appreciate the historical significance of Korea's cultural heritage while contributing to a cleaner local environment.
"The 'Gyeonghuigung Plogging' volunteer activity is a meaningful opportunity for our employees to connect with the historical value of Korea's cultural heritage while contributing to a cleaner local community," CEO Hae-young Woo says, "We hope this activity will inspire greater public awareness and broader participation in preserving our cultural heritage."
